Search term position on AllTheWeb/Fast

AllTheWeb ( http://www.AllTheWeb.com ), powered by FAST Search, is one of the leading major search engines.

When you perform a Web search on Lycos.com, the Web results are provided by AllTheWeb. AllTheWeb is a search results provider for a variety of TerraLycos search engines all over the world. It makes sense to have a good listing on AllTheWeb if you want to have a good listing on these search engines (including Lycos.com).

Three months ago, we conducted a comprehensive 103,260 Web page study. As you might know from issue #6 , we discovered that H1 headline tags play an important role to obtain a good AllTheWeb listing.

On top of that, we also discovered that 66,49% of the Web pages with search terms in their body text had the queried search term mentioned in the first 20 letters of the body text.

So if you want to obtain a good ranking on AllTheWeb, mention your search term in the first 20 letters of your body copy. And don't forget to apply the tips of issue #6.

If you want to know where you have to put your keywords to get a high ranking on Google, AltaVista, Inktomi and other search engines, read our other search engine ranking studies:
